Chainbridge Solutions is seeking a Middleware Engineer to join our growing team. The Middleware Engineer will be responsible for software installations and deployments on new and existing AWS sites, customizations and configurations required for each site, patching, and troubleshooting of any issues. This individual will install and maintain Java, Tomcat and other operational software and services, and patch servers and software as needed. The Middleware Engineer also designs, manages and monitors EC2, RDS, and supporting AWS services that make up our three-tier web applications. You will be responsible for documenting the infrastructure and support procedures; responding to incidents, requests, and outages; and monitoring cloud resource utilization and expenditures.  Remote work available

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage Chainbridge Solutions’ internal and customer-based JVM architectures, Apache Tomcat and Apache Web Server 
  • Provision and oversee AWS resources for development teams and customer installations  
  • Gather middleware requirements, configurations, and support development of infrastructure as code hosting solutions 
  • Perform basic Linux administration tasks including patching, monitoring, starting and stopping services 
  • Support software releases for customer sites outside normal business hours, handling all application server changes or actions 
  • Offer AWS and Middleware architecture guidance to customers and Chainbridge Solutions team members 

Required Basic Qualifications: 

  • 6+ years of IT experience 
  • 3+ years of experience with Apache Tomcat and Apache Web Server configuration, maintenance 
  • 2-3 years’ experience providing cloud system engineering and system administration support within an AWS environment 
  • AWS certifications, preferably at the Associate or higher level 
  • Expertise in a Linux operating system 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Must be able to work off-hours for weekend releases and patching tasks on occasion. 
  • US Citizen 
  • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
